Zen Buddhism and Law
The other day I stumbled upon this interview with a man who combines these two central interests of mine. Not only that, but the good Prof Campbell, of California Western Law School San Diego and author of a leading work on the Law of Sentencing, combines teaching and practising law as I do, although I have never shared his courtroom experience. His Zen involvement has been much longer than mine.
I have often thought that Law is meaningless without context as it is usually only part of all that is going on. It is also quite common for people to see it as a game because of its limited relationship with other aspects of reality. For anyone interested in Zen or in Law or in teaching in Higher Education this may be very interesting.
